Athlone author launches children's book
Athlone author Samantha Adams launched her new book Whiskers, Wobbles, and Wild Ideas, at the Milnerton library earlier this month.
The author of two books - Warrior Outside Chaos Within published in 2022, and Justice for a Warrior in 2024, launched her first ever children’s book on Saturday May 2.

Adams said the idea for a children's book came about last year as she finished off her second book and started releasing the trauma she had experienced as a child- spoken about in both her previous books.
“My creative juices flowed and it felt like it was time to start something new. I've read my daughter one story and she loved it.”
Ms Adams played games with the children and read them a story.

It took her about a year to write the 40-page book, which is a combination of 10 adventure stories, each with a lesson.
The book is colourful, inspirational and full of light, said Ms Adams. It teaches children to work together, use their imagination, and have hope.
Ms Adams said writing adult books were far easier as hers were memoirs, whereas with a children's book, she had to work out “what will excite the kids”. She had to think about which colours, words and images to use.
“I had to dig deep and think creatively. I want people to know that this is a book for their children to read themselves and for adults to read to them. The internet gives off so many bad things and this book is a reminder for them to be playful which a lot of kids miss,” she said.
