I think everybody will agree with me that we live in extremely difficult and challenging times and just to survive is very hard.
Not only are we in the middle of a deadly pandemic, but more and more people are losing their jobs.
Yet the price of everything is just going up and up, while the people who pay tax are getting fewer. Despite blackouts, the price of electricity went up so much that many poor people won't be able to afford electricity.
How could the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) agree to such a huge price hike? Don't they feel or care about the poor? The price of petrol also went up, and we all know when the price of petrol and electricity goes up the price of everything else also goes up.
If that is not bad enough, the price of all services and the rates are also up from Thursday July 1. So I cannot help but wonder how are we supposed to survive, especially the poor people, with little or no income? Even if they do survive the virus, they might just die of hunger. Do the politicians even care? I can't help but wonder.
May God help us through these difficult and challenging times.
