Advice office needs assistance

Letter to the Editor|Published

Brain Alcock, director, Athlone District Advice Office

The Athlone District Advice Office is appealing to all financial institutions, business people, individuals and our members to please help us in our efforts to continue to offer the greater community of Athlone with free legal advice, assistance and guidance.

Without funds it will be difficult to offer the professional services we are known for.

Our budget for a month is close to R10 000, which is used to cover stipends for staff and volunteers, internet connection, airtime, mobile data, travelling and office needs and stationery.

We are grateful to the church council of the Calvinist Protestant Church in Kewtown, who has made office space available free of charge and to Hillary Abbott for sponsorship of our website and to a few clients who leave donations of appreciation.

Perhaps you can or know of people who can make a monthly pledge or give a donation or any institution who would love to sponsor our office.

Your contribution can help make a difference in the lives of so many and also ensure members of our community have free access to justice.

If you can assist, please contact us by email: adviceathlone@gmail.com or call us on 083 747 5901.

Thank you.
