Staff Reporter|Published 6 months ago

Jazzart will commemorate 30 years of democracy in South Africa.

Jazzart Dance Theatre will commemorate South Africa’s 30 years of democracy with a mixed bill, Four Frames of Freedom, at Artscape on Friday November 15, at 7pm, and Saturday November 16, at 2pm and 7pm.

The line-up includes works that toured to Durban, Johannesburg, Rwanda and Pakistan.

The three toured works will be accompanied by a new piece, performed by the Jazzart and Baba Yaya trainees, which pays homage to the resilience of youth born since 1994.

Choreographers Sifiso Kweyama; Ciara Baldwin and Nathan Bartman from London-based MANACAN; and Lihle Mfene will present this showcase, which includes:

  • I Am African -
  • Ziyawa
  • Dark Flock
  • Battlefield

Ticket prices range from from R100 – R150 and are available through Webtickets or Artscape Dial-A-Seat at 021 421 7695.
