Patrolling officers spotted the man walking in Soetdoring Street after the midnight curfew.
Police arrested a 38-year-old Hard Livings gang member on gun charges in Bonteheuwel on Saturday November 14.
According to Bishop Lavis police spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, patrolling officers spotted the man walking in Soetdoring Street after the midnight curfew. The officers pursued the man when he started to run. They fired a warning shot and the man dropped to the ground.
The police say they found a 9mm pistol and 11 bullets on the suspect.
