Winterberg Road mothers honoured

Current and former residents of Winterberg Road in Heideveld hosted an event to honour some of the first residents to move in there. Many of them became lifelong friends, but over the years, the seniors became frail and were not able to visit each other like before. This is why their daughters, who also became lifelong friends, thought it would be a good idea to host an event to bring them all together once more, in honour of Women’s Month. The event was held at the Apostle Church of Christ in Winterberg Road on Tuesday August 9. From left, are, Doreen Bruintjies, 84, Gale Gain, 75, Pauline Leeuw, 79, and Angeline Cloete, 65.

Mastura Jacobs, 76, Elizabeth Reid, 73, and Francis Engelbrecht, 87, were also among those who were honoured.
