Police arrested a 29-year-old man in Manenberg on Saturday for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Manenberg police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett said officers at a scene where a 40-year-old woman had been wounded in a shooting in Rio Grande Street had been alerted to suspects in the vicinity.
The suspects ran off as the officers approached, but the officers found a man with a pistol and seven rounds of ammunition under stairs in Renoster Road.
