Dialogue on domestic violence

The Callas Foundation, together with the Saartjie Baartman Centre and the South African Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges, hosted a gender-based violence dialogue at the centre in Manenberg, on Saturday August 31. The dialogue brought together the judiciary, civil society, and the community to reflect on the Domestic Violence Act and it’s amendments, discussing the progress made and the challenges that remain in addressing gender-based violence in South Africa.

The dialogue was part of a broader initiative to engage various sectors of society in the prevention and eradication of gender-based violence, as Women’s Month comes to an end.
