Passengers travelling on an Intercape bus from Cape Town to East London on Sunday September 29 were delayed by eight hours after the bus got stuck four times following mechanical breakdowns.

An irate passenger, Victor Mrawu, from Khayelitsha, said the bus, which was travelling on the N1, experienced problems in Cradock, Graaf-Reinet and Tarkastad.

“People were very sad and angry because this delay played havoc with their plans. There were children going to school and some of us had important appointments to attend,” said Mr Mrawu.

He said they called the Intercape offices and tried to get answers while enduring the cold weather on the roadside.
