Moulood at Manenberg High

Staff Reporter|Published

The Fadak Foundation, a non-profit organisation, held a gathering at Manenberg High School, on Friday October 4, to commemorate the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Following the proceedings, known as a moulood, staff and pupils were treated to a meal.

Sheikh Abdullah Shafiek Arries, from the Fadak Foundation, addressed the pupils.
As part of Cape Malay tradition, some of the girls cut the “rampies” (lemon leaves cut in strips and soaked in rosewater and orange oils) and placed them in small packets to distribute to all those who attended.
