Simon’s Town CBD Neighbourhood Watch members Trish Inggs and Matthew Dees patrolling the business district.
The Simon’s Town CBD Neighbourhood Watch says it needs more volunteers to keep the neighbourhood safe.
The watch’s chairperson, Di Ruthenberg, said the watch had been working closely with the Simon’s Town CPF and Simon’s Town Business Association (STBA) to patrol the business district.
She said patrols took place from Monday to Friday from 7pm to 9pm, and it would be ideal for members to commit to one shift a week, working in pairs.
Patrols take place in the business district from the police station to a café near Simon’s Town School. Beach patrols take place from the Shell garage to the police station and members in cars take a drive to Seaforth, the jetty, and Long Beach.
STBA chairperson Jenny Rogers said the association was calling on business owners and residents alike to help.
“Let’s work together to protect our Main Road and keep crime at bay. Your support is vital,” she said.
