The Callas Foundation, together with the Foundation for Human Rights, held a first-responders training workshop on Wednesday January 15, at the Callas Foundation’s offices in Bridgetown. The project started two years ago to train first responders to handle abuse cases. The Callas Foundation held various workshops over the past two years with nearly 50 people attending each month. For the first time, since the project’s inception, the training was done virtually. About 1000 first responders have attended the workshops, including police officers, officers of the court, neighbourhood watch members, community police forums, police victim support room volunteers.
