Celebrating cancer survivors

Cansa Relay for Life Mitchell’s Plain honoured more than 100 cancer survivors at the event held at Stephen Reagan Sports Field on Friday February 7.

The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Relay For Life Mitchell’s Plain celebrated more than 100 cancer survivors at its annual relay event at Stephen Reagan Sports Field in Westridge on Friday February 7. Cancer survivors and supporters from Mitchell’s Plain and surrounding areas came out to raise awareness for the cause. Relay team members, displaying different messages of support, took turns to walk around the field from 6pm on Friday February until 6am the next day.

Team Family Ties demonstrated solidarity at the Cansa Relay For Life Mitchell’s Plain event.
Team Kids Can comprising young and older members promoted the importance of raising awareness about cancer among children.
There was much excitement among participants at the starting line.
Team Women’s Walk to Wellness took turns around the track.
