The Athlone Community Police Forum (CPF) has launched a sanitary towel drive to provide menstrual hygiene products to girls at the various schools in the Athlone area, said spokeswoman Pat O'Connor.
Residents are urged to support the Athlone Community Police Forum's sanitary towel drive.

"The Athlone CPF is not looking for funding in the form of money, but would like people to support this initiative and come on board by donating packets of sanitary towels so that those in need can be assisted and not stress about something as basic as a sanitary towel," said Ms O'Connor.
Donations of sanitary towels can be dropped off at the office of the Athlone SAPS Station Commander, Colonel Junaid Alcock, or the Athlone CPF office based at Athlone SAPS.
