Scores of Silvertown residents lined up outside the Proudly Silvertown Feeding Scheme on Thursday, 19 June, as the community initiative continued to provide much-needed food support to local families.
The donation of fresh vegetables from the community was used to prepare vegetable curry and rice, which served approximately 180 people, while Mustadafin, a renowned humanitarian relief organisation, donated pizzas on Saturday, 21 June.
The Proudly Silvertown Feeding Scheme was founded by Nasira Clarke, who, witnessing the dire need for food safety and nutrition in the area, decided to take action. Since its inception in 2020, the scheme has grown into a vital resource, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among the residents of Silvertown.
