A new dance production, The Reservation, will be staged at the Magnet Theatre in Observatory from Wednesday, September 3 to Saturday, September 6.

The work, co-directed by award-winning theatre maker Buhle Ngaba and Rondebosch-based non-profit company Figure of 8 Dance Theatre, co-founder Grant van Ster, is set in a bustling urban restaurant where dance, drama, and humour meet. Using choreography with chairs, plates, and everyday interactions, the performance explores relationships, tensions, and politics that play out in such a setting.

The cast includes Shaun Oelf, Thalia Alberts, Damian Jacobs, Sasha Nkonyana, Jenna Wilkinson, and Liam Frantz.

The Reservation will feature at the Magnet Theatre, 1 St Michaels Road, Observatory, from Wednesday, September 3 until Saturday, September 6 at 7.30pm, where Saturday will have an additional show at 3pm. Tickets cost R100 through Quicket.
