Bishop Lavis police have opened a murder and armed robbery case following a shooting in Valhalla Park on Wednesday morning, October 1.

The incident occurred at 5.30am on Robert Sobukwe Drive near Valhalla Drive, said provincial police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk.

The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the head, has not yet been identified, he said.

Three women, aged 31, 38, and 45, were injured and transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.

Police have impounded a Toyota Quantum taxi linked to the incident. The vehicle is being processed as evidence and will undergo ballistics testing, said Captain van Wyk, adding that no arrests have been made.
