The Children of Light Educare (COLT) will host its inaugural fundraising golf day at the Rondebosch Golf Club next month.

As an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre based in Rondebosch, COLT is committed to providing free, high-quality education, care, and support to children and their families from underprivileged communities in Athlone and Lansdowne.

Principal Mala Makan says many of the families the centre serves face significant challenges, including poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to learning opportunities.

“This fundraiser plays a vital role in sustaining our essential daily education and support programmes,” she said.

Funds raised will go towards covering daily operational costs such as transport, electricity, teachers’ salaries, and building maintenance.

“We warmly invite businesses and individuals to take part by entering a four-ball team, sponsoring a hole, or contributing prizes for the day. This is a wonderful opportunity to network, gain exposure and support a meaningful cause,” said Ms Makan.

By participating in the golf day, supporters will directly help ensure that COLT can continue providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for the children in its care.

The COLT golf day will take place at the Rondebosch Golf Club on Thursday, March 26, from 10.30am.
