Mowbray Maternity Hospital hosted a special wedding ceremony on Thursday December 5, when couple Abieda Williams and Safwaan Williams, got married.
Provincial Health spokesperson, Natalie Watlington says the couple from Athlone were eagerly waiting for their wedding date to approach, however, these plans were almost jeopardised when Ms Williams had to be rushed to Mowbray Maternity for an emergency Caesarean-section.
Ms Williams gave birth to her daughter, Sofia. “ Not wanting to delay, the couple approached management of the hospital and asked if they could host a small ceremony at the hospital. Staff and management were eager to oblige,” says Ms Watlington.
Ms Williams said: “From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you for sharing our wedding day with us and helping to make it such a special and memorable event. We are so thankful for the hospitality and efforts. We truly felt the love and sincerity all around us which made it the most memorable day of our lives.”
