Manenberg police arrested a 19-year-old woman on Sunday March 25 for possession of, and dealing drugs.
According to Manenberg police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett, the police’s crime prevention unit had received a tip-off about drug dealing in Rio Grande Road Manenberg, while they were patrolling the area. Police conducted a search and found R10 000 worth of drugs under a mattress in the room where the woman had been sitting
The drugs seized included 104 mandrax tablets, 12 sticks of dagga, one parcel of dagga, 11 units of tik and a small amount of uncut unga.
The woman was arrested and appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday March 26.
