Police arrested two alleged high-flying Cape Flats drug dealers, one of whom is from Hanover Park, the Daily Voice reports.
This happened on the evening of Thursday November 9.
Igshaan “Sanie American” Davids, from Hanover Park, and Kaldumalla “Dimes” Madatt, from Rocklands, were arrested at Mr Davids’ home.
Mr Davids was being investigated under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) and he faced several drug-related and gang charges in 2013.
Mr Madatt is the brother of convicted drug dealer Moegamat Sadaka Madatt, who was charged with diamond smuggling and drug crimes in 2009.
Mr Madatt is also a former self-confessed drug dealer, who had allegedly closed a church in Rocklands in 2010 and turned it into a shebeen.
Provincial police said the two suspects were found with drugs in their possession. “Two suspects, aged 49 years old and 51 years old, were arrested on Thursday after they were found in possession of drugs. Both will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana.
