Honouring retired teachers

The Movement Against Illegitimate Leaders (Mail), a non-profit organisation, recognised retired principal Rajen Rajkumar, with the Principled Principal award at a gala event in Lansdowne on Saturday November 9. Mr Rajkumar dedicated 40 years of his life to education and retired two years ago. He spent 38 years at Starling Primary School in Rylands before his retirement. From left, are Zaheera Mohammed, handing over the award is Wesley Neuman (the 2018 recipient), Mr Rajkumar, Megan Neuman, Ameerah Ebrahim Khan and Fatima Butt.

Aziza Abrahams and Khairunnisa Gaffoor are both retired teachers of Rylands Primary School.
Sisters Gail Symonds, Alverna Johnston and Carlin Symonds are all retired teachers. They were honoured for their contribution to education. They each received a medal, a certificate and a goodie bag. The three sisters collectively have 128 years of teaching experience among them.
