A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Bonteheuwel for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, say police.
Officers stationed on Jakes Gerwel Drive, on Monday May 15, at 3pm, saw rival gang members throwing stones at each other, and as they approached the fight, they spotted a man kneeling and pointing an object, said Bishop Lavis police spokeswoman Sergeant Samantha Adonis.
The man tried to run into a nearby property in Turksvy Road, but police caught him and seized a 9mm pistol.
