Shereen Stadler will be the Pinelands North Primary School principal at the start of the new school year.
Ms Stadler, from Lansdowne, has been part of Pinelands North for 18 years. She was the school’s deputy principal for the past eight years, working alongside Ann Morton, who retired as principal in December after 27 years at the helm (“Pinelands North bids farewell to principal,” Southern Suburbs Tatler, December 5, 2024).
Ms Stadler said she felt privileged to help build on the vision of the school and make it “even more outstanding than it is”.
“Giving a sense of belonging was part of the vision that Ann has introduced, so inclusivity is part of our journey,” she said.
She has 36 years of experience in education and has taught at Athlone North Primary School, Silverlea Primary School, JW Coon Elementary in North Carolina in America, and Portia Primary.
Pinelands North Primary School plans to introduce entrepreneurship as an extramural activity this year.
“We need our young people to develop the skills to improve the country’s economy and to learn to become financially savvy,” said Ms Stadler.
“What I love about this school is that every teacher takes an interest in every individual pupil. No matter how different their needs are, the teachers guide them all through their diverse needs,” she said, adding that the teachers also made a point of getting to know and support the pupils’ parents.
Teacher Haley Holton, who has been at Pinelands North for 16 years, takes over as the new deputy principal.
