Undercover police caught members of the Clever Kids gang yesterday on Jan Smuts Road, after they had attempted to shoot at the Hard Livings gang in Manenberg.
Officers spotted the taxi but as they approached, the taxi sped off and cops gave chase. The taxi was pulled over and a firearm was found in the possession of the one Clever Kids.
Police also confiscated the licensed firearm of the driver. A total of seven Clever Kids gang members were arrested as well as the driver of the taxi. Police are investigating a case of possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition. Drugs were also found in their possession.
