I didn’t think it was possible for things to get any worse than they already are in South Africa, but every day we are going more and more down the drain.
Our power is now more off than on. Never before in South Africa’s history have we had so much load shedding, and then the president still says there is no quick solution. This, after load shedding started a few years ago already. Why did the government wake up so late to find a solution?
All they do is talk. Talk is cheap.
Thanks to load shedding, many poor households are struggling even more because their appliances give in and they can’t afford to buy new ones. Their food in the freezers and fridges goes off because of the constant load shedding and there is no money to buy other food. Small businesses suffer, and the unemployment rate is going up and up. Who wants to invest in a country that can’t even keep their lights on.
On top of it, Eskom wants to punish us even more with a massive price increase. Can things get worse? The power crisis is only the tip of the iceberg. This is really a time for South Africans to pray like never before.
