With Erik Ten Hag being shown the exit, the talk of the town was, who takes over the hot seat?
Probably one of the hottest seats in the game, a seat that can either make or break you. To manage one of the most successful and biggest clubs in English football is not a easy job.
Ask Erik Ten Hag, who thought he would try a “Fergie” and overload the team with “young talent”. What he forgot was that the game is 20 times faster these days and there was just no time to develop a team to adapt.
My message to Erik would have been short and sweet: “Good riddance!”
Onto the new chapter and a chapter that is set to give off some New Year’s Eve, New York, Time Square fireworks vibes at the club.
The new Portuguese maestro, Ruben Amorim, has finally been unveiled and is currently setting out his first team to take on Ipswich Town after the international break.
Completely dominant in the Portuguese league and hot off an impressive 4 – 1 win against the English champions, Manchester City.
Ruben has been known to play the faces of opposition, setting out teams not afraid to try the flair and attack.
There was lots of talks around his stats being very similar to Erik, but Ten Hag never dominated the Dutch league is the same way Ruben has.
Another interesting observation was that before the appointment of Ten Hag, Ruben was possibly tipped to be the next boss, but Liverpool showed strong interest and that rumour quickly ended.
Then Ruben turned down Liverpool, shocking the world as many thought he was the perfect replacement for the outgoing Jurgen Klopp and perhaps his style of play at Sporting Lisbon would suit the Liverfools.
Nevertheless, he chose greatness over temporary glory and obviously he could see this team fronting — bragging with one Premier League in 30 years — shame on you!
Anyway, back to more important things, Ruben is now a Red Devil and quite honestly, the vibe he brings has already created the atmosphere needed to keep this great club alive.
A manager I see the players respecting and mostly importantly, a manager they would play for.
Liverfool riding high and still in honeymoon phase with Mr Slot at the helm, but still, nothing to worry about. They still have that clown of a striker in the form of Darwin Nunez missing sitters and Salah about to say goodbye.
Lets them enjoy the fantasy that won’t ever come true.
