Athlone-based Bemur Gymnastics and Dance Club walked away with gold at the Cape District trials in Brackenfell and at the Western Cape Gym for All Challenge, in Grassy Park, earlier this month.

The club entered three teams in the Gym for All Challenge, winning a silver and two gold medals.

Saturday’s inclement weather did not deter the club’s youngsters from turning up for a training session at Athlone community centre, as they are now preparing for the national Gym For Life Challenge in Cape Town in September, leading up to the next year’s International Gym For Life Challenge in Portugal.
