Athlone Athletics stun Bothasig Knights in Major League action

Athlone Athletics Baseball Club beat Bothasig Knights in a Cape Town Baseball Federation Major League clash in Athlone on Saturday, February 1.

The A’s came back from 3-1 down to win the match 6-3. The win takes them to 13 victories and five defeats this season.

The win was extra sweet as Athlone’s second team also won 8-6 against Battswood Baseball Club.

With three matches left of the season, the curtain closure will be a humdinger for the side from Athlone.

Bothasig is on top after 15 wins and three losses, followed by VOB Macaw with 14 wins and four losses. Athlone are in third after 13 wins in 18 matches.

Athlone A’s will play against Bellville this Saturday, followed by a clash against the Maitland Giants next weekend, and the closing match against VOB Macaw.

Bellville Tygers are fourth on the log, after after 12 wins and six defeats. In fifth, it’s Durbanville Villains, followed by Thistles, Grassy Park Crusaders and Maitland Giants.
