Devonshire Rovers beat Battswood Softball Club 7-8 in Athlone to progress to the Cape Town Softball Association’s knockout semi-finals.

Rovers’ women’s team will meet the new champions of the ladies first division, Westridge Yankees, in the semi-finals, at the Turfhall sports complex, next weekend, on Saturday and Sunday March 1 and 2.

Coach Bradley Jansen said both teams have been consistent at working hard, on and off the field. The men’s team also made it into the semi-finals.

“We have a lot of new girls in the team. The teams have put in a lot of time. The ladies will meet Westridge Yankees. They won the league last week. Going forward we will continue to showcase our hard work,” said Jansen.
