Athlone A's and Bellville strap up for the final stretch

SA Baseball captain, Johnathan Phillips completes the comeback for Bellville Tygers. They beat Athlone Athletics 5-3 in the second semi-final of the Cape Town Baseball Federation's Major League Knockout. Tygers will meet the A's in the third and deciding semi-final in Bellville on March 15.

Athlone Athletics and Bellville Tygers have all to play for in the third and last semi-final of the Cape Town Baseball Federation's Knockout Competition. 

A's drew first blood with a 9-6 win against the Tygers, at Chukker Road, on Saturday, March 8. 

Just when they thought they had it in the bag in the second sem-final, Bellville Tygers climbed back from a 3-1 deficit to win the second semi-final, 5-3, in Athlone, on Sunday, March 9. 

The two baseball teams will face off in the third and final semi-final in Bellville on Saturday, March 15.

The winner will advance to the first final against VOB Macaw on March 22, with the remaining finals set for March 23 and 29.

VOB secured their spot by defeating Bothasig Knights in both semi-final matches this past weekend.

Athlone Athletic Baseball Club's big hitter Atino Elliot will have his gear lined up for the third and last Knockout semi-final, against Bellville Tygers, in Bellville on Saturday, March 15.
