With the end of the first quarter of the year fast approaching, young athletes from schools and clubs across the city battled for supremacy in their respective track and field events in Bellville and Paarl, at the weekend.
The past few weeks has seen the conclusion of various inter-schools, sectional and zonal competitions, culminating in the weekend's Western Province Athletics High Schools, Junior and Under-23 championship, at the University of the Western Cape’s sports complex in Bellville. A little further afield, the Western Cape Primary School’s championships were held in scorching temperatures at Dal Josafat Stadium in Paarl.
