Westridge Yankees end softball season with 11 trophies

The Cape Town Softball Association (CTSA) 2025 season ended with a bang for the Westridge Yankees. 

The side from the Stephen Reagon sports complex collected 11 trophies in the CTSA's League, Grand Challenge and Knockout finals.  

With Yankees' youngest team, the under-10 team crowned the League, Grand Challenge and Knockout Champions last week, Yankees Ladies Major League team and the Third team followed proceedings this past weekend with treble wins, at the Turfhall softball stadium.

Yankees' Ladies Major League team won 9-4 against Tantasport in the Grand Challenge final on Saturday, March 15.

The following day, the Ladies Major League Champions completed the treble with a 11-8 win over Tantasport, in the Knockout final.  

The second team, playing in the First Division, won a double. They won the league last week and beat Panthers 7-6 in the First Division Knockout final on Sunday March 16. The reserves, however, lost 10-8 to Glenthorn A's in the Grand Challenge final. 

After winning the Second Division league last week, The Third team won the Second Division's Grand Challenge and Knockout finals. They beat Avendale in both finals, 12-6 and 13-3, respectively.
