Bridgetown-based Unitie Sports Club members shine at WPSAPD awards presentation

STAR PERFORMER SA Paralympic sprint and long jump record holder Mpumelelo Mhlongo, a member of the Bridgetown-based Unitie Sports Club, was named senior male athlete with a disability at the weekend's WPSAPD awards presentation in Rondebosch.

Members of the Bridgetown-based Unity Sports Club for the Disabled were among the top winners at the weekend's Western Province Sports Association for the Physically Disabled (WPSAPD) awards presentation at Vista Nova School, in Rondebosch. Twelve club members were selected to represent the province at last month's national championships in Gqeberha with Unitie's Our cerebral palsy soccer team winning gold and four of its athletes collecting two silver and two bronze medals. 

ACE: Unitie Sports Club's Nasrullah Blommetjie was named Cerebral Palsy (CP) football goalscorer-of-the-year at the weekend's WPSAPD sports awards.
