Wrestling fans were in for a treat at the Africa Wrestling Alliance (AWA) Battle For Glory event, held at a packed Parow Civic Centre on Tuesday, July 1.
The venue, also known as "The House of Pain", played host to seven action-packed matches featuring crowd favourites like Johnny Palazzio; Mike Xander; The Freak Show, and Mad Jack Maverick.
From dramatic entrances to the antics inside the ring, the AWA faithful were not disappointed as organised chaos erupted inside and outside the ring. The "Battle For Glory" certainly lived up to expectations with fierce rivalries and unexpected twists.

Two of the most unpredictable wrestlers on the AWA roster, Mad Jack Maverick and The Freakshow faced off in an epic bout, using the ring and its surroundings as weapons. The Freakshow, with the timely intervention of his manager, Christopher Montgomery, upset Mad Jack, securing a pin fall victory.
In other action, Johnny Palazzio and Ed Electric teamed up against the uneasy alliance of Mike Xander and Congo King. Despite their alliance, Xander and Congo's constant friction and belief in their own superiority proved to be their ultimate downfall.

The main event was the Harcourts Dunn Brackenfell Gold Ticket Battle Royale. This match saw more than twenty wrestlers enter the ring, but only Renier “REVYV” van der Vyver remained standing when it was all over.
