Spine Road High School's drill squad in celebratory mood after being crowned overall winners for the second consecutive year, at the annual school’s drill competition, at Jan Burger sports complex, in Parow, on Saturday.

Spine Road High School and West End Primary School once again came out on top at the annual Mitchell's Plain Marching Drill competition, held over the weekend at the Jan Burger Sports Complex in Parow. The event, hosted by the Mitchells Plain Police in association with Mitchell's Plain LOC and Midea Events and Promotions, featured 22 schools and community squads, some from as far afield as the Eastern Cape. Lentegeur's West End Primary made it three wins in a row, impressing judges by finishing second in the Grand March, Exhibition March, and Drumline categories, and also taking home the trophy for Best Drum Major.
Spine Road High repeated last year’s success, winning the overall title once again. Their achievements included first place for Best Dressed and the Grand March, as well as second and third place in the Exhibition March and Drum Major categories.
