Boundary Table Tennis Club’s Dadaker siblings, from Athlone, arrived home with a trunk full of medals. Pictured from left, are Sameena, 10, a Grade 4 pupil at Rustenburg Girls’, Mohammed, 12, in Grade 7 at Rondebosch Boys’ Prep School and Zaeem , 11, a Grade 5 pupil at Rondebosch Prep. Sameena was crowned under-11 girls’ champion, under-13 girls’ silver medalist and won gold in the under-11 doubles and mixed doubles finals with partners Lael Marshall from Gauteng and older brother Zaeem, who was crowned under-11 champion in the boys’ division. Zaeem then teamed up with Mohammed to take silver in the boys’ under-13 doubles event. Mohammed finished with silver in the under-13 boys’ section and gold in the under-13 mixed doubles with partner Tamika Van As.
Bonteheuwel’s Boundary Table Tennis club members performed well at last week’s SA championships, in Brixton, Johannesburg. Among the club’s top achievers were Tamika van As, 11, a Grade 6 pupil at Athlone North Primary School and part of the teams that won gold in the girls’ under-13 doubles and mixed doubles events, and the Dadaker siblings, Sameena, Mohammed and Zaeem, who dominated their respective divisions.
