City Park was a hive of activity at the weekend as teams from across the city battled for glory at the annual Cape Town 10s rugby tournament.
The tournament, hosted by the Hamediehs Rugby club, was first held in 2018, with the team from Ravensmead showing their mettle to beat Primrose 21-10 in the final.
Tygerberg, who is preparing to participate in the Transnet Saldanha Top8 over the Easter weekend, was in top form. Their coach Winston Paring must be satisfied with the success as part of its pre-season preparations for the 15-man code.
Primrose, Rangers, Rocklands and Young Ideas faced each other in Group A. In Group B, False Bay, Gardens and Progress were in action together with Hamediehs' first team. Uni-Mil, Blue Jets, Callies and Sir Lowrians challenged each other in Group C, while Tygerberg, Manenberg Rangers and Excelsiors crossed swords with Hamediehs' second team.
