The Ultra Music Festival will host pre-party shows to whet revellers appetites before the main event.
Organisers will host a country-wide tour in the three months leading up to the festival.
The festival will be held in Cape Town on March 10 and Johannesburg on March 11, and the pre-party tour takes place from December to February 2023.
The pre-party tour will give attendees a taste of what to expect at the festival at clubs in Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Potchefstroom.
The first pre-party tour will be hosted at Origin in Durban, the second at Love Thy Neighbour in Cape Town and the tenth and final location will be Club MVG in Potchefstroom.
The last Ultra festival was held in Cape Town in 2020, just before the pandemic started. To kick off this year’s hype, the organisers have released the official 2020 after movie.
The festival’s director Shaun Duwe said they are excited to announce the club countdown tour.
"Ultranauts can look forward to a taste of what's to come at the festival with the country's hottest dj's with this club countdown tour," he said.
The Ultra South Africa Instagram account shared their pre-party tour on Instagram saying:
“Attention Ultranauts, dates and venues for the Ultra South Africa pre-party countdown tour are officially here.”
”Come and join us at any one or more of our ten shows, hosted by some of South Africa’s hottest nightclubs, as we get ready for Africa’s largest electronic music festival.”
The festival which debuted in 2014, is South Africa’s largest electronic music festival and occurs in 20 countries.
The Cape Town festival will take place at the Hollywood Bets Kenilworth racecourse. The line-up for the event is yet to be announced.
Tier 1 and tier 2 tickets for the festival are already sold out and tier 3 tickets are R 932.15 per person.
